TIFAC CORE: A proposal setting up a center for relevance & excellence in the domain of pervasive computing is under consideration by Department of science & technology. This has an expected investment of Rs. 6.5 crores for 3 years.
Corporate Tech Meet: Our department has organized SATSANG, SATSANG VER 2.0, a Corporate Tech Meet bringing together topnotch executives from various IT Companies on a single platform in our college

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Our faculty members involve in various sponsored research activities. Few of the R&D works being pursued are
1.
The Department has been in the forefront of establishment of the TIFAC – Core on pervasive computing technologies at a cost of Rs.5.14 crores in the college. One Asst. Professor and 2 Lecturers have been deputed from the department to work in the CORE
2.
The department has received a funding grant of Rs. 2.01 Lakhs from Tamil Virtual University for a project titled “Language Localization for Tamil in Mobile Phones”.
3.
A project titled “ Predictive texting in mobile phones” with a funding grant of Rs. 2.15 Lakhs is under consideration in Tamil Virtual University
4.
The Department is in collaboration in the computational studies aspect in a project prepared by Chemistry Department which is under consideration by Indian Council for Medical Research
5.
A staff student team of the Department has won the second prize in the State level Project competition conducted under the auspices of kanithamizh sangam
6.
