The Department has been in the forefront of establishment of the TIFAC – Core on pervasive computing technologies at a cost of Rs.5.14 crores in the college. One Asst. Professor and 2 Lecturers have been deputed from the department to work in the CORE |

The department has received a funding grant of Rs. 2.01 Lakhs from Tamil Virtual University for a project titled “Language Localization for Tamil in Mobile Phones”. |

A project titled “ Predictive texting in mobile phones” with a funding grant of Rs. 2.15 Lakhs is under consideration in Tamil Virtual University |

The Department is in collaboration in the computational studies aspect in a project prepared by Chemistry Department which is under consideration by Indian Council for Medical Research |

A staff student team of the Department has won the second prize in the State level Project competition conducted under the auspices of kanithamizh sangam |
