Velammal Engineering College, established in 1995, is situated in calm and serene surroundings on the Ambathur-Redhills road, 15 kms.from Central & Egmore railway stations, 25 kms from airport, 15 kms from Koyamedu bus stand and is affiliated to Anna University, Tamilnadu. It is the first non-minority self financing Engineering College to be certified as ISO 9001:2000 institution by TUV Germany, within a span of 8 years and the UG/PG courses are accredited by the NBA, AICTE, New Delhi and NAAC,UGC, New Delhi.

The institute has well equipped library, satellite programmes, modernized laboratories, R&D Cell with TIFAC-CORE and crystal growth projects, placement & Training Cell. Organizing national and international conference is a regular academic feature of the Institute. The department of mathematics has taken this lead and is arranging this conference.
